Reflection

As a teacher, I have been using TSGold to help me with planning activities that I plan to perform in the class. I use TS Gold is a guideline to ensure that I have activities that help with student’s development. I use TS Gold to do the formal and informal and formative/summative assessment of the children.

In addition to TS Gold, to help with my planning, I perform informal assessment in the class to make everyday classroom decisions or adjustments to teaching. As a teacher, I should observe and see if the students understand the activities and make necessary adjustment to your activities to get the students engage and learn more about the activities.

I also learn that partnership with student’s parents are very important to have an accurate assessment.  Parents can provide insights about children’s behavior and capabilities outside the school. When the student does not speak English as their 1st language, parents can serve as a key informant about children’s culture and language.

I truly believe family involvement is necessary to valid assessment of children with disabilities and special needs that it is legally required.

Reflection

As a teacher, I to do informal/formal through formative/summative assessment to help determine what activities that I need to perform in the class to help our student’s area of improvement and their strengths.

To make it as a comprehensive assessment, we need to perform proper data collection. We can use photos, videos, checklist. To show the example, I am including PlanningIntentionalAssessment.pdf

In addition to the paper collection, I also use iStation that help perform formative assessment and adaptive assessment.

iStation has fun interactive games for students so we can learn about their language and math abilities through fun interactive game.

Reflective Connection

I use couple screening and assessment tools to help me with my assessment so I can document my student's development progress.

I include PlanningIntentionalAssessment to show how we can use photos, videos, checklist to help record and document their progress.

With iStation, students play interactive game so we can see their ability on language and math so we can dodocument their progress throughout the year.  The game provide verbal instruction in English and Spanish to help children

that do not speak English that provide more accurate assessment result and promote positive outcome.

Reflective Connection

I include IEPViewingGuide to show how we can build partnership with families and professional colleagues to support our students.

As a teacher, I will need the partnership with administrator, parents, specialist when we create IEP (Individualized Education Plan) to support child's development. Regular meetings are needed so we can collaborate together to ensure the plan is working and if we need to make modification to the plan.
