General Overview:

I want to share resources from Sesame Street to help parents to educate their children about racial justice. The resources in this initiative can support you in building racial literacy in all children.  There’s a lot more bullying, physical abuse that happen in USA lately for BLM (Black Life Matter and Asia Life Matter). Children might be exposed or witness somebody that is being bullying or physical abuse.

As a parent, we hold a great power to help children better understand this complicated, flawed, often unfair world. We need to teach our children that their words matter and talking honestly and directly about race and diversity is the beginning of racial literacy. Even if children don’t understand the nuances of the words, being open to learning new words and understanding ideas from others’ perspectives is always helpful.

We want to build racial literacy to help building children’s sense of self and self-worth regardless of skin color.
